Maps the allied division of the Japanese Empire and shows U.S. warships, a Japanese military parade, captured war materiel, the first A-bomb explosion, the ruins of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japanese generals deplaning, U.S. troops landing in Japan and raising the U.S. flag, Gen. MacArthur deplaning in Tokyo, and the surrender ceremonies aboard the battleship Missouri. Reel 2, Chinese and Americans celebrate V-J day in Shanghai. Japanese prisoners of war pose. Shows Japanese casting their ballots, bulldozers clearing rubble from Tokyo's streets, Japanese children marching, a printing press turning out occupation bulletins, troops landing in Japan, Emperor Hirohito speaking and riding a horse, Japanese in a POW camp, unopened Red Cross supplies, atrocities committed on Americans, prisoners' graves, the hospital ship Benevolence, and Gen. MacArthur.

General of the Army Douglas MacArthur (26 January 1880 – 5 April 1964) was an American five-star general and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army. He was Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II.
